I lived in Fleckney for nearly 4 years, it's a beautiful village and around spring and summertime when its sunny it made me feel privellaged to live in the village. The only thing i did not like about Fleckney is the small minded village mentality, if you have not lived in fleckney all your life (or if your face does not fit) then you are not welcome.
I know you can't tar everyone with the same brush but when everyone acts in a small minded fashion it's hard not to.

I grew up in Fleckney untill the age 9 and have many fond memories of the old school and the recreation fields I lived at 21 Elizabeth Rd untill 1969 when my family moved to Canada. My mother Myrtle Cole was a county midwife. I remember families such as the Olivers, the Blackshores the Nortens, the Punts, and my first little" boyfriend" Richard Carstaires. Ive never been back so the photos were great and I would appreciate seeing any photos of my house or the old school. Thanks for letting me relive some great childhood memories, and Richard if your out there, I know we were 8 but you did promise to marry me !!! (just kidding) All the best to everyone in Fleckney, have a very Merry Christmas and New Year. Sincerely Deborah,

My family lived on Gladstone St. and Kilby Rd. with the rest of the Pollard clan before moving to Canada in 1957.. I have many lovely memories of Fleckney and of Fleckney C of E school.
Mrs. Barlow was the last teacher I had there. I wonder if anyone else remembers that time?

Hi everyone. I have nothing but fond memories of Fleckney. My Dad was born and raised there, lived there with my Mom (a Kibworth girl) and my sister was born there. They emigrated to Canada in the late '50s and then I came along - I had the privilege of visiting several times throughout my childhood and teen years. From someone who grew up with her roots thousands of miles away, take it from me - it's lovely to have a place like Fleckney figuring so prominently in our family history. Warmest regards from Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
